Aimee Lou Wood injured filming The White Lotus scene

Aimee Lou Wood, known for her role in Sex Education, suffered an injury while filming a scene for The White Lotus. While acting alongside a snake, she fell and cut open one side of her body. In this third series of the black comedy, Wood's character, Chelsea, has a "fake leg" created for a sequence where she is bitten by the snake. Her co-star, Walton Goggins, who fears snakes, experienced panic attacks during filming and was even bitten by the snake. Wood described how a specialist crafted the fake leg to match her skin after scanning her leg. She explained that the snake managed to bite the fake leg during shooting, noting its symbolic significance as it relates to the Year of the Snake. While her character gets bitten, she portrays her as resilient. Wood explained that the fake leg was discarded after filming due to venom from the snake. She shared her embarrassment at having to pretend to see the snake and scream, which was not a challenge for her but a major fear for Goggins. She recalled the chaotic filming day, where she ended up falling and injuring herself. Regarding her increased recognition, Wood mentioned that while Sex Education brought her attention, The White Lotus has intensified it, especially in America. She felt the need to engage fully with the American cast and audience during filming.
