Dove Medical Press May 14, 2024, 08:00 AM UTC

Summary: Bacterial infections and antibiotic resistance are global health concerns. Photothermal therapy using Ag SA -ZDPC, a single-atom doped porous carbon material, shows enhanced photothermal conversion and bactericidal properties. Ag SA -ZDPC exhibited a 99.9% killing rate for S. aureus and 100% for E. coli at 50 µg/mL concentration under 808 nm laser irradiation. This study highlights the potential of Ag SA -ZDPC in combating bacterial infections.
