African countries are now the primary source of new immigrants to France, according to a recent study released by the French National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE). The INSEE report, analyzing data from 2006 to 2023, shows that 45% of new immigrants to France in 2023 came from Africa, surpassing Europe. The study also revealed a rise in educational attainment among immigrants and a slight decrease in the proportion of female immigrants. The study also indicated that a third of new immigrants find employment within their first year in France, with European immigrants having the highest employment rates.
