Adam Frost downsized home for health and family reasons
Adam Frost, a popular star of BBC's Gardeners' World, has made a significant life change due to health issues. He recently downsized his home, leaving behind a cherished garden, to better manage his chronic illness. Adam has lived with Fibromyalgia, a painful condition, for 20 years. In 2022, he decided to move to spend more time with his family and make life easier for himself. He shared this on Gardeners' World, saying, "As a family, we've just decided to scale back, so I can spend more time with them." Previously, Adam lived in an 18th-century farmhouse in Lincolnshire. He expressed how the home was wonderful when everyone was healthy, but his condition made it difficult to maintain such a large space. Fibromyalgia affects about 2.5 million people in the UK and is known for causing widespread pain and fatigue. Despite his challenges, Adam finds peace in gardening. He mentioned that working with the soil helps him cope with his mental health. "Gardening has always been an escape for me," he said. His Gardeners' World co-star, Monty Don, also shares a love for gardening. Monty has restored his home, Longmeadow, since purchasing it in 1991. He believes that the joy of gardening comes not from the size of the space but the experience it brings.
