Actors secure AI protections, wage increases in new contract
Video game voice and motion capture actors reached a new contract agreement with studios on Wednesday, ending a nearly year-long strike focused on artificial intelligence protections. The new contract includes consent and disclosure requirements for AI digital replica use and allows performers to suspend consent during strikes, addressing key concerns. The deal also provides significant wage increases and enhanced safety measures for performers, including medics for motion capture actors. The agreement, ratified by 95.04% of SAG-AFTRA members, follows a strike initiated by failed contract negotiations regarding AI. The deal also comes amid broader industry calls for AI protections, including support for the NO FAKES Act.
