Oral spray vaccine prevents UTIs for up to 9 years

Summary: A British trial found that an oral spray vaccine can prevent recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs) for up to nine years. In a study with 89 patients, 54% remained UTI-free for nine years after using the vaccine, with an average infection-free period of 54.7 months. The vaccine, MV140, developed by Immunotek, contains four bacterial species and is considered safe and effective. The research was presented at the EAU Congress.
