UCL develops reusable ECGI vest for detailed heart mapping

Researchers at University College London have developed a reusable electrocardiographic imaging (ECGI) vest with 256 sensors, capable of mapping the heart's electrical activity in fine detail. The vest, validated with 77 patients and applied to 800, offers a quick and cost-effective solution, requiring only five minutes per patient. It employs washable dry electrodes and MRI data to create 3D models, aiding in identifying candidates for implantable cardioverter defibrillators. The vest has been patented in the U.S. and is being explored for broader manufacturing.
