50% toll discount on March 28-29 for Hari Raya
The government will provide a 50 percent toll discount for private vehicles on March 28 and 29. This discount coincides with the celebration of Hari Raya Aidilfitri. The announcement was made by Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi. The discount will begin at 12:01 AM on March 28 and end at 11:59 PM on March 29. The government expects to pay around RM19.69 million to toll concessionaires to cover this discount. The offer is available for Class 1 vehicles at all toll plazas, but it does not apply to border toll plazas, such as Sultan Iskandar Building and Tanjung Kupang. This initiative is part of a festive toll relief program that started in 2023. It aims to ease the cost of living for the people. Nanta Linggi encouraged travelers to plan their trips carefully and follow travel time advisories to avoid traffic jams during the holiday. He also reminded drivers to ensure their vehicles are in good condition and to check their eWallet and Touch ‘n Go card balances. Real-time traffic conditions can be monitored online through the Malaysian Highway Authority’s website. The Works Ministry, along with the highway authorities, emphasizes the importance of safe driving. They encourage drivers to adhere to traffic rules and take breaks if they feel fatigued. For traffic updates or help, the public can call the LLM Traffic Management Centre or check their social media pages.
