42,190 kg of waste removed from KSRTC depots
The Clean Kerala Company has successfully removed 42,190 kg of waste from the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) in just one month. This includes 4,560 kg of electronic waste. The removal process targets inert inorganic waste accumulated over the years in KSRTC's depots and workshops. This initiative is part of an agreement between Clean Kerala and KSRTC. The non-recyclable waste is sent to cement factories across the country, where it is used as fuel. This arrangement helps reduce waste and supports sustainability efforts. By clearing the waste, KSRTC can better utilize its land for different purposes. There is also a push to achieve a "green status" for KSRTC by removing as much waste as possible before March 30. This date marks the announcement of "New Kerala," which aims to be waste-free.
