A report by LICADHO revealed that 19 international brands, including Adidas and Walmart, are using garment waste to fuel brick factories in Cambodia, causing worker illnesses. The waste includes fabric, plastic, and rubber. Burning garment waste can release toxic substances, including dioxins, which can cause cancer. Several brands, including Primark and Lidl, are investigating the matter. Adidas stated that it has initiated an investigation into waste disposal routes.
