JSW MG Motor India has introduced the 2025 MG Comet EV, which is being marketed as India's smallest electric city car. It is priced at Rs 4.99 lakh, making it cheaper than the popular Maruti WagonR. The Comet EV is available in five different variants and has a range of 230 kilometers on a single charge. The new model features improved comfort, technology, and safety. Customers can choose from various trims, including the Executive, Excite, Excite Fast Charge, Exclusive, and Exclusive Fast Charge. Notable upgrades include a rear parking camera and premium leatherette seats in some variants. The company also launched the Comet BLACKSTORM Edition in February 2025, which is priced at Rs 7.80 lakh. This special edition features a stylish black exterior and comes with a 10.25-inch touchscreen and advanced connectivity options. Additionally, MG offers the MG e-Shield package, which covers repair and service costs. This package includes a three-year warranty, roadside assistance, and three free labor services for early maintenance. According to Rakesh Sen, the Head of Sales for JSW MG Motor India, the Comet EV's design and features have made it popular among city drivers. Sales increased by 29% in 2024 compared to the previous year, showcasing the growing interest in electric vehicles.
