2025 London Marathon scheduled for April 27th
The London Marathon will take place on Sunday, April 27, 2025. This is the 45th edition of the race, which is expected to attract tens of thousands of participants. The race will start with elite wheelchair racing at 8:50 AM, followed by the elite women's race at 9:05 AM. The elite men's race and mass participation will begin at 9:35 AM. The total length of the marathon is 26.2 miles. Participants will run through many famous landmarks in London. The race starts in Greenwich and includes sights like the Cutty Sark, Tower Bridge, Canary Wharf, and ends near Buckingham Palace. Event director Hugh Brasher hopes this year's marathon will set a new world record for the largest marathon. Currently, the record is held by Paris with 53,899 runners. Brasher believes the London event can surpass that number. The marathon will be broadcast live on BBC, available on BBC One and online platforms. This year promises a diverse lineup of elite athletes, including Olympic champions and world record holders.
