1-year-old dies after wrong-way crash in Pomona

A 1-year-old child has died after a serious car crash on the 60 Freeway in Pomona. This crash took place on Saturday night around 11 p.m. The California Highway Patrol reports that 24-year-old Rick Rodriguez was driving the wrong way when he collided head-on with a Honda Civic. The Civic was carrying three people: two women and the toddler. Tragically, both women died at the scene. The child was taken to the hospital with severe injuries. Unfortunately, the toddler passed away on Tuesday morning. Rodriguez was also seriously injured and died on Sunday after being hospitalized. He had been arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Another woman involved in a separate accident related to this crash sustained only minor injuries.
