Zelensky condemns shootout between Ukrainian intelligence agencies

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned a shootout between military and domestic intelligence services that left several people injured, demanding both agencies be held accountable for their "absolutely unacceptable" actions. The exchange of fire occurred in broad daylight in Kyiv on Wednesday. Zelensky stated that one suspect from each service has been identified, investigations are ongoing, and deputy leaders responsible for the situation will be dismissed. Ukrainian media suggest the conflict may stem from the SBU's arrest of a deputy commander from the Russian Volunteer Corps, a Kremlin-critical battalion under GUR command. Both agencies have gained significant power since Russia's invasion began over four and a half years ago.
