Young innovators partner with Tamil Nadu police to combat cybercrime at hackathon
Young tech innovators in Tamil Nadu collaborated with police to address cybercrimes at the 'TN Police Hackathon 2024.' Participants created prototypes to combat dark web transactions, cryptocurrency fraud, and scams on platforms like Telegram. Fifty-four teams advanced from 315 submissions, with 15 finalists selected by experts. Innovations included an AI system to track dark web activities and tools to identify users on Tor Mail and monitor fraudulent Telegram groups. Top teams from RMK College, Karunya Institute, and St Joseph College received cash prizes. The event highlighted the need for ongoing cooperation between law enforcement and the tech community.
