Yogi Adityanath celebrates eight years as UP Chief Minister
Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, celebrated eight years in office with posters across Lucknow. These posters highlight the accomplishments of his government. Adityanath took charge in 2017 and was re-elected in 2022. He is the first Chief Minister in Uttar Pradesh to serve two consecutive terms. Adityanath's government won a significant victory in the 2017 elections, securing 312 out of 403 seats. In 2022, his party, the BJP, maintained control by winning 255 seats. After taking office, Adityanath managed numerous ministries directly, including Home and Law and Order. He currently oversees 33 ministries, maintaining key responsibilities. Born on June 5, 1972, in Uttarakhand, he was initially named Ajay Singh Bisht. He became politically active in 1998 and served five consecutive terms as the MP for Gorakhpur. Before becoming Chief Minister, he was known for his role in promoting the construction of the Ram Temple. Recently, Adityanath reviewed law and order with officials in preparation for upcoming festivals. He stressed the importance of peaceful celebrations and adhering to traditions. He announced plans for a three-day 'Janpadiya Vikas Utsav' in all districts to mark the completion of eight years in office. Additionally, he called for increased verification of drivers and better transport regulations to enhance public safety.
