Yamal Governor Dmitry Artyukhov briefed Health Minister Mikhail Murashko on the region's radiology service reform, which centralizes image interpretation and uses artificial intelligence, based on Moscow's experience. The reform kept several reference centers in large hospitals, reduced radiologist staff elsewhere, and sends images to AI for analysis. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported the "MosMedII" platform processed over 18 million studies nationwide in under three years, with 1.1 million of 1.4 million monthly studies coming from Russian regions. The Yamal government claims AI cuts report preparation time by 15%, with over 550,000 studies processed and all regional facilities connected. Portable X-ray machines are being introduced for air ambulance use. The reform, launched in early 2026, drew mixed reactions from doctors who reported increased workloads and backlogs.
