Officials have removed all major wreckage from the collision between a Black Hawk helicopter and American Airlines Flight 5342 in the Potomac River. The pieces are now at a secure facility for further examination. The crash occurred on January 29, resulting in 64 fatalities on the commercial flight and three on the helicopter. The American Airlines flight was returning from Wichita, Kansas, with many young figure skaters on board. The cause of the collision remains unclear. Investigators recovered the cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorder from the plane. The helicopter was reportedly flying at 300 feet, above the usual limit for its type.
