World Series games averaged 3 hours and 19 minutes this year, an increase from 3:01 in 2023. This marks a rise from previous years, with averages of 3:24 in 2022 and 3:38 in 2021. Mid-inning pitching changes rose to 5.2 per game, up from 3.8 in 2023. Runs per game also increased to 10.0, compared to 9.3 last year. The total number of pitches reached 315, the highest since 2018. The overall postseason game average remained at 3:02, down from 3:23 in 2022. This is the lowest average since 1984. Major League Baseball plans to adjust pitch clock rules for the 2024 season.
