Woman gets community order for knife threat outside Birmingham school

birminghammail.co.uk —

A woman who threatened someone with a knife outside a Birmingham primary school has been given a community order, avoiding prison. Capri Anderson, 22, admitted the offence outside Brownmead Primary Academy in Shard End. The victim was an adult, and no pupils were involved or disturbed. School staff called police immediately, and headteacher Wendy Carter said precautions ensured pupil safety. Anderson was sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court on September 30. The court heard she had significant mental health issues. Recorder Ben Williams KC imposed a community order with a six-month alcohol treatment programme and up to 30 days of rehabilitation activity. Anderson had spent several months in custody on remand.
