Woman finds 16 mail-in ballots for different names at her Bellevue apartment
A Bellevue woman received 16 unopened mail-in ballots addressed to her apartment, but with different names. Jami Visaya, who moved in on October 3, found the ballots surprising and returned the first batch to the post office.
King County Elections Office is investigating the situation. They suspect the ballots may belong to previous tenants who did not update their addresses. The office plans to retrieve the ballots from Visaya to sort out the issue.
Officials confirmed that only one ballot per registered voter will be counted, regardless of how many are received. They can also assist in updating voter registrations and issuing replacement ballots if necessary.
