Woman dies from elephant attack in India’s Keonjhar district

A 53-year-old woman, Sukuri Juanga, died from injuries sustained in an elephant attack in Keonjhar district. The incident occurred while she was grazing goats in the Barabanka reserve forest. Forest officials reported that Juanga was attacked by a wild elephant on Friday afternoon. She was taken to a health center and later to a district hospital, where she died on Saturday. Authorities are monitoring elephant movements in the area and have alerted local residents. Compensation for Juanga's family will be provided after an investigation.
