Wolves sign Ivory Coast defender Ghislain Konan

Wolves have announced the signing of Ivory Coast defender Ghislain Konan, nearly 23 hours after the summer transfer window closed. The 30-year-old left-back has joined on a one-year deal. Konan, who has 57 international caps, previously played under new Wolves head coach Cesar Peixoto at Gil Vicente in Portugal last season. He fills the squad gap left by David Moller Wolfe's deadline-day departure to SV Hamburg. Konan began his career at Ivorian club ASEC Mimosas before moving to Portugal with Vitoria Guimaraes. He later spent five years at Stade de Reims, followed by stints in Saudi Arabia, Spain's second tier, and Gil Vicente.
