Wisconsin's Francesca Hong walks back Thanksgiving cancellation, calls it favorite holiday

Wisconsin Democratic gubernatorial candidate Francesca Hong now says Thanksgiving is her favorite holiday, walking back her 2021 social media post urging its cancellation. In the deleted November 2021 post, she called Thanksgiving a celebration of colonialism and an "original superspreader event" that killed Indigenous people. On Monday, she avoided a yes-or-no answer on CNN; Wednesday she told Politico she did not want to cancel it. Hong has also criticized at least seven US holidays, including Valentine's Day, July Fourth, Christmas, Halloween, and Mother's and Father's Day. She is a chef and said Thanksgiving is a big family event.
