Windows 11 26H2 arrives as early Arm PCs face end of support
Microsoft has begun general availability (GA) rollout of the Windows 11 "26H2" major update, delivered via an enablement Knowledge Base (eKB) for existing users on the Germanium core. The 26H2 update, the third and final version of the Germanium OS core series, is being distributed incrementally through Windows Update. Manual installation is possible but not recommended due to potential hardware compatibility issues pending manufacturer verification. Windows 11 Home and Pro users on version 24H2 face imminent support expiration, as these editions receive 24 months of support from release, while Enterprise and Education editions get 36 months. The next major version, 27H2, expected in 2027, will require a larger refresh with a new OS core.
