Wife's grief after husband's fatal heart attack outside Ashford Museum

A man died of a heart attack outside Ashford Museum on August 6, weeks after dismissing symptoms as heartburn. Jeff Fenner collapsed while volunteering and could not be resuscitated. Fenner, 73, had sought treatment for the discomfort but was preparing another consultation. His wife Maureen described his sudden death as unexpected, noting he appeared healthy that morning. The couple had been together for 34 years. Fenner, a former security guard, volunteered at the museum for over eight years and also worked at the Rare Breeds Centre. His funeral was held today, with the museum closed in his honor.
