Whitney finally found a forever home after months

Whitney, a 4-year-old retriever mix, found her forever home after spending five months at the Aiken County Animal Shelter. She was the shelter's longest resident and was running out of time to be adopted. Abandoned by her previous owners, Whitney needed a miracle to find a loving family. Fortunately, the Bowdoin family from Greenville came across Whitney’s photo on Facebook. They visited her at the shelter and decided she would be a great fit for their family, which includes their young son, Kade. Whitney quickly established a strong bond with Kade, who became her favorite person. According to Nikki Bowdoin, Whitney is affectionate and loves to cuddle. She enjoys playing with stuffed animals and is very happy when the whole family is together. After three months in her new home, Whitney has adjusted well and enjoys activities like car rides and walks by the lake. Whitney has also recently enjoyed her first family trip to Hendersonville, North Carolina, where she did well and even received special treats. Her personality shines during the day, but she is quite calm at night, preferring to be in bed by 8:30.
