West Vancouver father beaten in mall parking garage demands answers

A West Vancouver father, Kuang Shen, is angry and frustrated with police after he was stalked, threatened, and beaten in a mall parking garage on Monday evening. He suffered injuries to his face, neck, hands, and hip. Shen says the attacker hit him 50 to 60 times in front of horrified bystanders, issuing death threats and racial slurs. West Vancouver Police confirmed a suspect was arrested but later released, pending multiple charges and a future court date. Police would not confirm if the assault was random or if the suspect had a criminal history. Shen plans to press additional charges, saying his children are traumatized and he feels the release is a "broken promise" from the justice system.
