West Ham renews interest in midfielder Ezechiel Banzuzi

West Ham United is looking to sign Ezechiel Banzuzi, a talented midfielder currently playing for Belgian club OH Leuven. The 20-year-old was a transfer target for the Hammers in January. At that time, West Ham and Monaco both tried to negotiate with Leuven and Banzuzi's representatives but could not come to an agreement. More than six clubs showed interest in Banzuzi during the January window. OH Leuven has set a price of €15 million (about £12.6 million) for him. As summer approaches, the team is preparing for the possibility of losing him if a club makes a suitable offer. This season, Banzuzi has played in 30 matches for Leuven, scoring three goals and providing six assists. He previously played for NAC Breda in the Netherlands before moving to Leuven in June 2023. At Leuven, he has secured a regular spot in the starting lineup, playing mainly as part of a midfield trio or in a double pivot. Banzuzi is currently under contract with OH Leuven until June 2026. He is also representing the Netherlands Under-21 team in upcoming friendlies against Italy and Romania.
