Wellness business owner pressures sexual abuse survivor to retract allegations
A sexual abuse survivor, Deborah Sarah, reported being pressured by Johannes Egberts, owner of Breathless, to retract her story about being abused by a former staff member. Egberts warned her that her account could harm his business and the psychedelic therapy field. Following Sarah's revelations, two more women shared their uncomfortable experiences with the same staff member, William Solis, during Breathless retreats. Solis was previously convicted of sexual touching and drug offenses, and Breathless has announced plans to review its practices. Egberts admitted he should not have contacted Sarah and expressed regret for any pain caused. He stated that Breathless would strengthen its protocols and training in response to the allegations.
