Warner Music and Spotify sign multi-year deal to enhance music streaming and publishing
Warner Music Group (WMG) and Spotify have signed a new multi-year deal for recorded music and publishing. This agreement, announced on February 6, follows Spotify's earlier deal with Universal Music Group and aims to enhance music value for artists and fans. The partnership will focus on advancing audio-visual streaming, expanding music catalogs, and introducing new paid subscription tiers with exclusive content. It also includes a direct licensing model with Warner Chappell Music in several countries, including the U.S. WMG's CEO Robert Kyncl emphasized the collaboration's potential to align rights holders and streaming services.
