Vorokhta Revives Legendary Ski Jumping with International Height Cup

obozrevatel.com (Ukrainian) —

The international ski jumping competition "Height Cup 2026" took place in Vorokhta, Ivano-Frankivsk region, in late September, featuring 34 athletes from Ukraine, Poland, and Slovenia competing on K-75 and K-90 hills. The event marks the second season of revived competitions at the historic complex, supported by recreation network ULIS and IT company Boosta. Local sports school director Ihor Hladysh noted the jumps were reconstructed three times since 1922, with recent repairs funded by sponsors. Vorokhta's ski jumping tradition dates to 1922, when Elżbieta Michalewska-Zientkiewicz became one of the world's first female jumpers there. ULIS pledged 500,000 hryvnias annually and donated a minibus for young athletes' travel.
