Volts take early wickets but Northern Districts recover in second day of play

Otago Volts captain Luke Georgeson took three wickets early on day two, leaving Northern Districts struggling at 11 for three. Brett Hampton's 121 runs helped Northern recover to a total of 365 at Seddon Park. In response, Otago's openers Thorn Parkes and Jacob Cumming ended the day at 58 without loss, trailing by just six runs. Northern's middle order, particularly Hampton and Katene Clarke, contributed significantly to their innings. In other matches, Auckland's Mark Chapman scored 276 runs, leading his team to a declaration at 567 for nine. Canterbury's openers also made a strong start, reaching 211 without loss in their innings.
