A woman in the Volgograd region nearly lost 466,000 rubles to scammers who impersonated law enforcement and service providers. The 41-year-old woman was persuaded to apply for a loan, but her suspicion grew during the process due to continuous calls from the fraudsters. She then contacted the police. The incident led to a criminal case being opened under Article 159 of the Russian Criminal Code concerning fraud.
