Vizhinjam–Navaikulam Outer Ring Road revised plan adds tunnels, awaits approval

A revised plan for Kerala's Vizhinjam–Navaikulam Outer Ring Road adds more tunnels and viaducts to reduce hill cutting, though project approval remains pending. The Union ministry said funding is undecided and environmental clearance was deferred in July pending further information. The new DPR follows a review of National Highway 66. About 6,500 families who surrendered land await compensation; payments will only occur after final project approval under the National Highways Act.
