Vito the pug wins Best in Show at 2024 National Dog Show

Vito the pug won the Best in Show title at the 2024 National Dog Show, marking the first time a pug has received this honor. Vito triumphed over more than 1,900 dogs at the event in Pennsylvania. Vito first won the Toy Group before competing against six other group winners. His handler, Michael Scott, received a $20,000 prize. The Reserve Best in Show was awarded to Verde, a Welsh Terrier. This year's show featured 205 breeds, including the newly recognized Lancashire Heeler. The National Dog Show has been televised after the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade for 23 years.
