Virginia startup buys used planes for ICE deportation flights

A startup with a $140 million contract for ICE deportation flights has begun acquiring used aircraft. Daedalus Aviation Corp. has registered four Boeing 737-700 jets, previously operated by Avelo Airlines, according to FAA data. These planes are between 17 and 22 years old. The firm's leader may be linked to another company that secured a nearly $1 billion DHS contract for migrant travel services. Deportation flights have faced controversy and protests.
