Victorian minister regrets writing character references for convicted taxi driver and others

Victorian Minister Luba Grigorovitch regrets writing six character references, including one for a taxi driver convicted of assaulting women. She stated she provided around 33 references since late 2022, but was unaware of the individuals' histories at the time. Grigorovitch has vowed to stop providing character references. The revelations have drawn criticism from opposition parties, with calls for her dismissal. Grigorovitch was recently promoted to cabinet in April.
