Viareggio clears illegal camp in Pineta di Levante, restoring safety and decorum

Municipal police in Viareggio dismantled an illegal encampment in the Pineta di Levante area, cleaning the site of waste and abandoned materials. The operation targeted zones on via dei Marinai and via dei Comparini. Security assessor Alberto Pardini said the action combines decorum, environmental protection, and safety in a delicate pine forest setting, also reducing fire risk factors. The intervention is part of broader territorial protection efforts. The municipality maintains integrated fire prevention plans, including a regional-approved AIB plan for the pine forest and a specific emergency plan defining 200-meter hazard zones around buildings. Pardini emphasized these tools work as one coordinated system.
