Veterinary App Fights Neurophobia in Seizure Care

vetmed.illinois.edu —

A new veterinary clinical reasoning app called Furensic Detective has been launched to help veterinary students and practitioners overcome "neurophobia," the anxiety felt when managing neurologic cases like seizures. The app is free and focuses on epilepsy cases. Developed by Dr. Rose Krupka Peters with Medical Joyworks, the app allows users to practice decision-making in a low-stress environment. It is available on Apple App Store and Google Play, with the first epilepsy case series permanently free. The app aims to build confidence through realistic case application rather than rigid algorithms. Future expansions will include additional seizure types, clinical calculations, and other neurologic disorders, with the goal of improving clinical reasoning across veterinary specialties.
