Vermilion Catholic dominates St. Edmund with strong defense in quarterfinal win

Vermilion Catholic's defense played a key role in their 60-20 quarterfinal victory over St. Edmund. The Eagles, who had been known for their high-scoring offense, showcased their defensive strength by forcing three turnovers and scoring on multiple possessions. After St. Edmund scored first, Vermilion Catholic responded with 41 unanswered points. Senior quarterback Jonathon Dartez contributed significantly, rushing for 178 yards and four touchdowns, while also passing for 131 yards and two touchdowns. The Eagles will face Kentwood in the semifinals after Kentwood's win over Southern Lab. Vermilion Catholic aims to continue their strong performance as they advance in the playoffs.
