Vandalur zoo prepares for Pongal celebrations with special arrangements

The Arignar Anna Zoological Park will open on January 14, 2025, for Pongal celebrations. Special arrangements include online ticket sales, extra cash counters, and designated parking areas. A shuttle service will connect additional parking to the zoo entrance. To enhance safety, wristbands with parental contact details will be provided for children under 8. A large security presence, including police and medical teams, will be on-site from January 15 to 16. Additional bio-toilets and wheelchair access will also be available. Certain enclosures will be closed to manage crowds, and battery-operated vehicles will have limited service. Visitors are reminded not to bring plastic items and to avoid teasing or feeding animals.
