Valve develops new Steam controller with updated trackpads and wand controllers for VR headset

eurogamer.net

Valve is reportedly developing a new version of its Steam controller, codenamed Ibex. This follows the original controller's discontinuation in 2019. The new design will feature trackpads with different sizes and shapes, aiming for a more traditional gamepad feel. Additionally, Valve is working on wand controllers, codenamed Roy, intended for a new standalone VR headset called Deckard. Both the Ibex controller and Roy wands are currently in the later stages of production and are set for mass production. The original Steam controller was discontinued in 2019, and Valve's last VR headset, the Index, was released in the same year.
