Valve develops new Steam Controller and VR controller for upcoming headset

Valve is reportedly developing a new Steam Controller, known internally as "Ibex," which is currently in mass production. Details about its design remain unclear, but it may feature traditional joysticks and trackpads. Additionally, a new VR controller called "Roy" is in the works, intended for a standalone headset codenamed "Deckard." This controller is expected to include hand tracking and physical buttons, with many featuring capacitive touch. The new headset aims to improve on the Valve Index by eliminating the need for a PC connection and incorporating eye and face tracking. Valve has focused more on software but has explored hardware options like the Steam Machine and Steam Deck.
