Valencia's unfinished Nou Mestalla stadium excluded from 2030 World Cup venues

Valencia's unfinished Nou Mestalla stadium has been excluded from the list of venues for the 2030 World Cup. FIFA announced 23 proposed venues on December 11, with Spain, Portugal, and Morocco as the main hosts. The Nou Mestalla, which has faced development issues since 2007, was initially considered a contender. However, it remains incomplete, with a targeted capacity reduced to 49,000 and a completion date now expected in 2025. Despite recent efforts, including land sales to fund construction, the stadium's future as a match venue remains uncertain. Valencia currently plays at the Mestalla, their home since 1923.
