Vadodara to inspect bridges biannually after tragedy

timesofindia.indiatimes.com

The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) will now inspect all city bridges twice a year, following a state government directive after the Morbi bridge tragedy. This change comes after a Gujarat high court order in February 2023. Inspections will occur before and after the monsoon season, with the first scheduled for March and the second for October. VMC is currently selecting consultants to carry out these inspections over the next five years. The estimated cost for this year's inspections is Rs 1.29 crore, with a planned annual increase of 5 percent.
