timesofindia.indiatimes.com

Vadodara mountaineer Hitesh Patel scaled two Himalayan peaks above 6,000 metres in eight days, completing both ascents in Alpine Style without support teams or fixed ropes. Patel, with two team members, summited Mount Shinkun East (6,081 metres) and Mount Yunam(6,111 metres) from Sep 1 to 8, facing rocky, icy terrain and low oxygen levels. The team unfurled the Tricolour at the summits. Following the ascents, Patel attempted an unclimbed peak above Pangong Lake in Ladakh, pioneering a route but reaching 5,800 metres before stopping short of the summit.
