Uttar Pradesh teacher suspended for misconduct with Class 5 student in Ballia

A 50-year-old government school teacher in Ballia district, Uttar Pradesh, was suspended for alleged indecent conduct with a Class 5 student. The suspension took effect Wednesday following a report that substantiated the allegations. District basic education officer Manish Kumar Singh said Manoj Rai, posted at a composite school in Basantpur, was suspended immediately. The block education officer's Tuesday report found the allegations prima facie valid, with the student's complaint corroborated by classmates in grades 5 and 6. Rai now faces a departmental inquiry led by Sikanderpur block education officer Pankaj Kumar Singh. The case falls under Sukhpura police station limits, with officials confirming the action on Thursday.
