Uttar Pradesh simplifies property transfer taxes with Bye-Law 2025
Uttar Pradesh has launched Bye-Law 2025, standardizing property transfer taxes across its urban areas, aiming for greater transparency and affordability. The new regulation, announced by Minister A.K. Sharma, replaces inconsistent fees with a uniform system based on property area or value, streamlining the process with online applications and a 45-day resolution target. A pre-transfer public notice is included. This reform, implemented under existing municipal acts, seeks to create a transparent, digital system and boost revenue for urban bodies, requiring adoption by all urban bodies after board approval.
