Uttar Pradesh promotes sustainability with green initiatives

Uttar Pradesh is implementing extensive climate action initiatives, including Miyawaki forests and plastic roads, to promote sustainability. The state has planted 310 acres using the Miyawaki method and aims to build 1,500 kilometers of roads with plastic waste, repurposing around 2,000 tonnes. Over one lakh rooftop solar systems have been installed under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana. These efforts have led to cities like Agra and Jhansi becoming top performers in the National Clean Air Programme, demonstrating Uttar Pradesh's commitment to sustainable urban development.
